NATSKA ROUND 3, Clay Pigeon, 15th Oct 2022

NATSKA Round 3. Harry takes the chequered flag in 11th Place. This weekend was NATSKA Round 3 at Clay pigeon racetrack, Dorchester.

The weather was a mixture all day of rain, cloud and sunshine which kept everyone guessing by the hour of which tyres to go onto, wets or slicks. This was Harry’s 3rd race as novice starting from the back of the grid and did not get off to a great start with a massive grid of 28 drivers.

Heat 1,

Unfortunately he did not complete the first lap as his engine oiled up and he came to a stop halfway round the track so he had to retire with a DNF for the first Heat.

Dads time to shine. With some serious head scratching, carb cleaning, battery checking & text messaging to teammsport Australia we the problem solved with an oiled-up spark plug. This was a problem I now could see had happened in heat 4 at Fulbeck 2 weeks ago. Fingers crossed problem solved.

Heat 2,

Harry got off to a great start and continued to finish 13th out of 28th and get fastest lap. The race had a Red flag making the race too dangerous to continue with everyone on slick tyres.

Heat 3,

Starting for the first time on wet tyres saw him climb up to a 10th Place finish from the back.

Heat 4,

In this heat the weather changed in the middle of the race.

From the back Harry managed to finish the race in 9th Place as the rain started again.

Heat 1 24th – DNF Heat 2 25th – 13th Heat 3 21st – 10th Heat 4 27th – 9th

We finished the day in 11th Place for NATSKA Round 3, which is a great result out of 28 Drivers. Harry Also claimed 3rd fastest lap for the day . Roll on to Whilton Mill in 2 week’s time and Harrys final race on Novice plates.

NATSKA Round 2 , 1st of October 2022. Fulbeck kart track Grantham.

It was a great days racing yesterday at Fulbeck for NATSKA Round 2. We had some highs and lows but great pace and a great result in the end .

Harry took the chequered flag in 11th Place out of 28 in only his second race on novice plates, starting at the back of the grid in NATSKA Round 2 at Fulbeck Kart track. A great Sunny days racing with the morning being a damp slippery track on slicks making it interesting. Still lots still to learn for both of us, but pace wise he was flying. Harry had Fastest lap in heat 3 and 3rd fastest in Heat 4 which were good signs he was building in confidence. We are just starting to get his race craft and overtaking times which are key things we are working on. Racing against a’lot of older lads will mean he can learn from them as well.

Heat 1 starting 28th and finishing 14th

Heat 2 starting 21st andfinishing 7th. 3rd fastest lap

Heat 3 starting 25th and finishing 7th but got a 1 lap warning penalty for missing the chiquane due to late breaking . Great result in Heat 3, also getting fastest lap but ended up 20th due to the 1 lap so lesson learnt.

Finished 11th out of 28 class 15 drivers

Very happy with how the day went as there were a few red flags and restarts, glad the drivers involved were ok . Set up was great even with worn tyres so looking forward to Clay pigeon Dorchester in 2 weeks time.

NATSKA Round 1 Camberley 17th of September 2022 Round 1 Class 15 Junior Rotax.

And Harry takes the chequered flag in 9th place in his first class 15 race in NATSKA Round 1 Junior Rotax.

After telling him to take it easy and focus on getting used to the new engine… Harry had other ideas. He made the decision himself to race—sending my adrenaline levels through the roof as he competed in Class 15 Junior Rotax for the first time after moving up from Honda Class 12.

We had great pace all day, and he looked comfortable on track. There’s still plenty to learn in terms of setup and race craft, but he got off to a flying start.

Even Mum got the chance to do a session as a marshal! Since he’s running on novice plates, he’ll be starting from the back of the grid for his first four races to get used to the power of this new class.

A fantastic day’s racing on well-scrubbed tyres! Moving up to a new class is always a challenge, but Harry showed great pace and determination. Exciting times ahead—roll on Fulbeck in two weeks!

Monaco Championship Rye House Winter Cup 2017

This is Harry in his first Karting championship. The Monaco Championship Rye House Winter Cup 2017.  The first race of the season is where they can determine where they start in the following races for qualifying. This was a real eye opener for us but Harry grew in confidence, going round the track on practice and qualifying, but during the race took a spin on the 4th lap and hit the tyre wall head on winding himself, and hurting his arm, so he had to retire. The other drivers were good so we needed to get him back into a kart straight away to get his confidence back.

NATSKA Round 3 – Clay Pigeon

Class 15 Junior Rotax – 15th October 2022

Harry takes the chequered flag in 11th place!

This weekend saw NATSKA Round 3 at Clay Pigeon Raceway, Dorchester, where the ever-changing weather kept everyone on their toes. With a mix of rain, clouds, and sunshine, teams were constantly second-guessing tyre choices—wets or slicks?

This was Harry’s third race as a novice, meaning he started at the back of the grid in a packed field of 28 drivers. It wasn’t the smoothest start to the day, but he showed strong pace throughout the heats.

Heat 1 – DNF (Oiled-up spark plug)

After two rolling laps, Harry’s race was over before it had even begun. His kart came to a stuttering stop halfway around the track, forcing him to retire with a DNF due to an oiled-up spark plug.

Heat 2 – P13 (Fastest Lap!)

Harry got off to a strong start, working his way through the pack to finish 13th out of 28. He even set the fastest lap! However, the race was red-flagged midway through as the skies opened, making conditions too dangerous for drivers still running on slick tyres.

Heat 3 – P10 (First Time on Wets)

For the first time in Rotax, Harry took to the track on wet tyres and put in a solid performance, climbing from the back of the grid to 10th place. The race saw multiple Battenburg flags due to crashes, slowing the field down but allowing him to gain valuable experience in the wet.

Heat 4 – P9 (Crazy Weather Conditions!)

A real test of adaptability! The race started dry, with everyone on slicks, but partway through, the rain returned, sending the karts sliding all over the place. Despite starting from the back, Harry managed to bring it home in 9th place, with more Battenburg flags adding to the drama.

Final Result: 11th Overall

Another great performance at Clay Pigeon, proving Harry’s ability to handle tough conditions and changing track surfaces. Plenty of progress made—onwards and upwards to the next round!

NATSKA Round 2 Fulbeck class 15 Junior Rotax 1st Oct 2022

Round 2 NATSKA 2022 – 2023 Championship Season

And Harry Takes the chequered flag in 11th Place out of 28 at NATSKA Round 2 FULBECK. A great Sunny days racing with lots still to learn for both of us, but pace wise he was flying . Fastest lap in heat 3 and 3rd fastest in Heat 4 were good signs he was building in confidence, just getting his race craft sorted out and his patience for the right time are key things we are working on, but racing against a’lot of older lads will mean he can learn from them as well.

NATSKA 2022-2023 Championship Round 1 Camberley 23rd September2022 Class 15 Junior Rotax

This was Round 1 of the new season and with minimal testing done over the summer holidays with his new engine we got down to business.

A lovely sunny day saw harry starting at the back of the grid as a novice but despite being told to take it easy and just get used to the new engine, Harry had other ideas! Deciding to race on his own terms, he stormed through the field to finish an impressive 9th out of 25 in his first-ever Junior Rotax Class 15 race. This was part of the NATSKA 2022-2023 Championship season at the Camberley Kart Track.

Race Results:

• Heat 1: Started 16th – Finished 7th (with the fastest lap!)
• Heat 2: Started 17th – Finished 11th, showing solid improvement.
• Heat 3: Started 17th – Finished 8th, climbing steadily up the grid.
• Heat 4: Started 15th – Finished 3rd, an incredible push to the front.

Harry secured 9th place overall after a fantastic day of racing on well-scrubbed tyres. He showed impressive pace in his new Class 15 setup, promising exciting results for the season ahead.

Roll on Fulbeck in two weeks’ time — bring it on!

NATSKA NATIONALS Championship 2021
9th – 11th July | Class 11/10

What an incredible weekend of karting we had at Fulbeck Kart Club for the NATSKA NATIONALS Championship 2021 9th – 11th July | Class 11/10

We spent it with some fantastic people who all seemed much calmer than I was—at least on the surface. Whether they were as stressed and nervous as I felt, who knows! There was plenty of great racing across the classes, and I’m incredibly proud of Harry, who managed to finish 5th overall for the weekend and 6th in the NATSKA Championship. This was especially impressive given that COVID restrictions meant he missed a few rounds.

NATSKA ROUND 7 FULBECK 12th June 2021

NATSKA ROUND 7 FULBECK

And Harry takes the chequered flag At Natska Round 7 Fulbeck Kart track Grantham, with Barnwell Kart club.

A grid of 28 drivers in class 11. Great days racing starting on the grid for the first time after losing my novice plates, dad got set up wrong in heat 1 so just did not have straight line speed when needed. A crash with a novice at the first chicane saw us both come to a standstill, leaving me with a DNF, So not the best start to the day’s racing. Heat 2 was a lot better manging to make up 4 places to finish in 7th place on a strong honda grid.

Heat 2,

It was better started 11th on the grid, better set up and managed to finish 7th.

Heat 3,

was a strange one starting 7th on the grid. Most of the race was run under batternburg flags due to crashes, with penalties to other drivers harry managed to finish 5th.

Heat 4,

was much better starting 17th managed to secure 6th place leaving Harry with an overall 5th place for the day. Also got a chance to test out the rebuilt trailer for the first time .

NATSKA, Round 6 Camberley, 29th May 2021

And Harry takes the chequered flag in 4th Place at Camberley, Round 6 Of the Natska Championship. A superb days racing in our first dry race day for this year, so much better without the rain.

He got off to a great start, still starting at the back of the grid as novice due to a penalty at Shennington last round, but made up for it today, starting in P21 and managing to finish P10 in heat1.

Heat 2

With a little adjustment to the kart started P17 and finished 5th also claiming fastest Lap with a 33.71

Heat 3

Starting 20th on the grid tore around and finished 3rd missing out on fastest lap again by 1 millisecond.

Heat 4

Starting 16th again saw him do some outstanding overtaking to finish 3rd again beating his personal best with a 33.00 which meant he finished 4th overall for the day in class 11, he will also mean he will be on the grid at the next round and not have to start at the back of the grid .

He is definitely getting to trust his tyres in the dry and push his kart to the limit which is great to see. Thanks to Kieran Crawley at MSPORT RACING for the tips.
