NATSKA ROUND 4 Hooton Park 23rd Oct 2021 CLASS 12 Kart cam . .

First time staying away for a race in a hotel for this race and Harry takes the chequered flag in 3rd place for the days racing at Hooton park kart club for NATSKAs round 4 of the championship. A small grid for the class 12s yesterday with a few not being able to make the distance to liverpool. Little bit cheeky 2 drivers overtaking him on a waved yellow flag and getting no penalty but hey ho . Great racing yesterday and he loved this track also showing great speed to keep up with the front 2 who seem to have jet packs on their karts managing , Heat 1 3rd place   Heat 2 3rd place   Heat 3 2nd place   Heat 4 3rd place. This leaves Harry Top of the championship Table for class 12 for the first half of the season .

And Harry Takes the chequered Flag in 3rd place overall for The first race of this year with NATSKA. Round 5 was at Clay pigeon race track Dorchester, and a nice 3 degrees in the morning . Our first time at this track so lots to learn from the day . Harry started off with some great times in the short practice before Finishing in 1st place in Heat 1 , winning by 0.42 seconds. Heat 2 Saw Harry finish in 3rd place with the fastest lap only 1.23 seconds behind the leader. Heat 3 saw Harry take the lead after a few class14 karts span and create a big gap only for the baton burg flags to come out so the pack had to bunch up again and on the final straight saw harry lose 1st place by 0.10 seconds. Heat 4 starting from the back of the grid saw him have a great final heat and finish in 3rd place again meaning he would end round 5 in 3rd place. A great result and some tight racing which keeps Harry at the top of the championship standings. Roll on to Round 6 at Bayford Meadows on the 26th March.

And Harry takes the chequered flag in 1st Place overall at Round 7 Of the NATSKA championships at GYG Glan Y Gors Park North Wales. Excellent day at the office for Harry as it was our first time at this track ,also taking fastest lap of the day in class 12 with some rapid laps done . Heat 1 finished P1 and fastest lap A cold start at to the day at minus 1 with snow still on the ground from in the night but managing to stick to the track. Heat 2 finished P1 and fastest lap Heat 3 finished P2 by 0.25 of a second. A wet Heat after a downpour of rain and sleet Heat 4 finished P1 and fastest lap . interesting heat with half on slicks and half on wet tyres and a rapidly drying track but a stormy looking cloud above. Harry chose slicks so it was a gamble that paid off as by about the 3rd lap his slicks took on some great grip and sped to the front creating a gap of 9.91 seconds to take the win and the race days First place trophy……. And then a nice 4hr car journey home 🤣 Great days racing at a fantastic track and great driving from the Harry man …. harryhurstracing.com roll on Round 8 at Fulbeck.

And Harry takes the Chequered Flag in Round 8, NATSKA at Fulbeck in joint 1st place (heat Wise). With 2 wins each , 1 second place each and both with a DNF Harry Missed out on First place by 0.29 of a second as first place was then decided on the fastest lap time between the 2 for the day . A great days racing with harry taking fastest lap in 2 of the heats. A big grid of TKM’s class 14 and class 12 s saw alot of action taking place with harry classified in 3rd place for the 20 on the grid . Heat 1 finished P2 being pushed wide onto the grass hence losing 1st place position. Heat 2 finished P1 with a great drive Heat 3 DNF due to a big crash at full speed on turn one and an almighty shunt into the back of a tkm which had just hit someone else head on, writing off harrys front end and rear bumper as someone else hit him which shook him up a bit . In all 8 drivers had to retire from that crash . Many thanks for the help from Barry & Tony in the Barnwell team for helping to get his kart back up and running before the next heat started, and my marshall duties started. Heat 4 Finished P1 Another great drive and response from a shook up harry to finish first place from the back of the grid claiming fastest lap again in this heat . A great but hectic day and superb result for round 8 at Fulbeck. Onwards to Camberley in 2 weeks time and Round 9. 🏎

NATSKA round 9 Camberley Kart Track surrey. And Harry takes the chequered flag in 2nd place for day . Great weather today on camberley’s Fast but narrow track . With a grid of 18 mixed Hondas and TKM karts it made it quite hard once you were stuck behind someone to make moves. Heat 1 got off to a good start right from the back of the grid but got a puncture ( valve failure) half way through the heat which made the kart tough to control and maintain speed so saw Harry finish the heat 4th place. Heat 1 4th place Heat 2 1st place managing to stay clear of any other drivers pulling a lead of 1 lap. Heat 3 2nd place Heat 4 2nd place after a great battle with 1st both defending with harry losing position on the second from last lap and then caught behind a TKM crossing the line 0.62 seconds behind the leader. This meant Harry finished second overall for the day . Great last heat that i was able to see from Marshall post 2 while on duty. Great days racing and cant wait for Round 10 which is a 2 day event at Rowrah (Cumbria) in June .

Great weekends racing at Cumbria Kart Club Rowrah For NATSKA Round 10.
What a great track and what we ve been told, a very unusual roasting hot sunny day with blue sky’s above. After a near on sleepless night though with a force 10 gale battering the tent it was time to wake up to baby lambs bleeting at 4 in the morning, so to say we were knackered was an understatement, but the sun was shining so all was well.
This was another new track to use that we had not raced on so the 3 practice laps were welcomed.
Day 1
Heat 1 Great start to the race with Harry Finishing 3rd Place .063 of a second behind the winner .
Heat 2 Another great start saw harry take the chequered flag in 1st place with a 4.15 second lead.
Heat 3 This Heat Saw Harry Drop back a bit after a big crash at the start of the race which he managed to avoid by going around the Start Finish marshall post, no doubt scaring the Sh#t out of the marshalls. But then 2 laps from the end of the race hit someone side on who span right in front of him making him lose another position. So by the time he crossed the finish line he was12 seconds behind which was to much to catch upand finished P3 and fastest lap.
Heat 4 Another great heat saw Harry have a great battle to fonish P2 0.53 seconds behind the winner.
These results saw Harry Finish in P2 for Day 1s Racing which was a great race for a first time on the track .
Day 2
This day was made up of 1 qualy , 2 Heats and a final .
Qualifying didn’t go to well getting stuck behind a tkm and not being ablew to find a clear run saw him qualy 3rd. 2 seconds off the pace .
Heat 1 This was alot better fininshing P2 and fastest lap
Heat 2 Again finishing P2 and fastest lap
Final NIGHTMARE. whilst class 14/12 were called to the grid the rain started falling for the first time , then got a bit heavier, so everyone on the grid went into panic mode changing from slicks to wet tyres in time for the final to start. Then whilst everyone was sitting on the grid. It stopped . With the track being sunk in a quarry no one could see how long the rain would last so when the race started it was just spitting but the track drying quickly. Everyone had made the mistake of changing to wets as the track was dry by about the 3rd lap . We were lucky enough that we didnt chew our wets up to much in the Final but just didn’t have enough pace with the set up so finished P3.
MIssed out on the final finishing P3 , but a P2 on day 1 meant we had agreat weekend picking up some good points towards the Championship Nationals in 4 weeks time .
And Harry takes the NATSKA 2021 – 2022 Championship In 3rd place missing out on second by only 4 points. Very proud of the fight he’s given to the lighter karts this year , definitely giving them a run for their money this season. This weekend saw the finals, round 12 over 3 days at LLandow kart track south wales with the best weather of the championship by far . It was a superb weekend and another track that he had not raced on before , which we enjoyed to the max but was not all plain sailing . A stress loaded weekend from the start lolol. Practice went well until the 4th lap on Harry’s new tyres when he got a puncture which was stress number 1 so panic set in to get an old tyre back on the rim before the start of heat 1, which we did and saw harry take P2.
Heat 2 had another great race finishing in third but came disaster number 2 getting rear brake piston failure so panic stations again to get the piston rebuilt and sealed before heat 3 which we managed but still realised their was a problem somewhere with the brakes.
Heat 3 was another good result coming home in 3rd place again which ended Race day 1 on a high .
Sunday Race day 2
This did not get off to a good start getting up earlier to sort the problem of a leak somewhere accidently sheered off a brake line hose from the rear calliper meaning panic setting in again lol , having to change the rear calliper with a spare older one ,which we managed only to realise that the front master cylinder had cracked causing the system to lose fluid. ( we had found the leak ). Unfortunately Harrys kart was not ready for Heat 4 so they aloud him to take another team kart out with his numbers on to continue but 3 laps from the end with Harry in 5th that kart developed engine failure and Harry had to retire it ending with a DNF. ( not Good).
Heat 5 The Kart was up and running and saw Harry take another 3rd place finish
Heat 6 And harrys final race in Class 12 saw him have another second place Finish.
We thought all had gone well in the heat until Harry got disqualified from Heat 6 from scrutineering as Harry’s exhaust Gasket had blown at some point so was not compliant. A great weekend which would have seen Harry take 3rd place for the sprint weekend but the disqualification meant he finished the Round in 5th place but held onto 3rd in the overall Championship.
Heat 1 – 2nd
Heat 2 – 3rd
Heat 3 – 3rd
Heat 4 – DNF
Heat 5 – 3rd
Heat 6 – 2nd But Disq
An absolute blinding weekend and season with Barnwell Kart club and this was harry’s last race in Class 12 before he moves up to Rotax Class 15 so lot of practicing to do before the start of the new season. Well done to all the other drivers at Barnwell and good luck to those retiring and moving on . Also to Cue Ball Hull for the constant helping with the brake problems throughout the weekend and helping to keep him on track, Also to Josh East Photography for the fantastic photos.
