It’s that time of year again when Harry starts his championship at rye house starting with the Monaco winter cup and what a cracker it was , starting in 2nd place losing out on pole by 2 hundredths of a second but showing consistent lap times throughout . Then the drama happened with the race starting and everyone getting off to a great start Harry gets spun round on turn 3 from behind from someone causing carnage from some terrible driving leaving Harry facing the other way on the bend and taking a very hard hit to the side of his kart from someone who should have avoided him ,shaking Harry up a bit .so not much footage of tonight’s race as he was hit so hard it knocked his go pro down . Although the driver got an abc to give the position back this left Harry at the back of the pack anyway so it wasn’t much punishment for the other involved . So pretty much like round 8 of last year’s cup Harry had to knuckle down which is what he done with vengeance and managed to smash his way through the group to finish the race in second place also dodging some crazy and dangerous driving by some hell bent on trying to take competitors off track. Great night tonight for the first round of the Monaco championship at rye house with Harry grabing pole position on the last lap of qualifying . A race with loads of overtaking between the front 3 each one taking advantage of the slip stream from the others which left then in an ever changing position train and the the odd minor mistake which near the end of the race saw the leader spin at pilon and into the tyres face on leaving Harry and second place to battle out the last few laps, and then on the final lap saw Harry get bumped from behind and lose the lead on hairpin 2 ,but second place was given an abc but carried on racing to the finish line beating Harry by 0.023 of a second but unfortunately earning a 30 second penalty for not giving the place back leaving Harry to take first place on the podium by 24 seconds and earning his second championship career win . Boom and Harry takes the chequered flag with a great clear run for him. After qualifying on pole and a great start saw him pull a lead after the 2nd lap whilst 4 people jostled for position behind him allowing him to gain quite a good gap between him and second and with a clear run in front managed to finish the race 32 seconds in front of the rest with quite a bit of questionable driving by a few which held up the rest of the pack on coming up to lap people at the end was able to take his time and pick his overtake spot . Well done Harry for claiming his 3rd championship career win and second fastest lap trophy.๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐
Harry missed Round 3 due to being on holidays but was looking forward to round 4 on the 18th June.
Race Footage of the Monaco championship round 4 June 18th 2019 . All I can say is what a nightmare track to race on tonight with the rain . As we know Harry hates the rain on slicks but managed to qualify in 3rd place which was great as he glided off track for a bath in one of the many off-road lagoons that had formed with the rain which in turn stalled the engine causing him to need a change of kart . ร good Start off the line saw him move up to second but for a slight bumpย from 2 other drivers forced him slightly wide loosing 3 places dropping down to fifth. But knuckling down slowly over the 28 laps managed to slowly catch the others in front and take 3rd place on the podium . Very tricky conditions for all and alot of spins and bumps but a good result in the end . Go team 303 and hopefully no more rain on race days . And Harry takes the chequered flag and 1st place in what was his most exciting race to date . The Monaco championship round 5 saw Harry take pole in qualifying but a slow start off the line saw him drop a position and as the laps went on a train if 4 karts pulled away from the rest to battle it out for position with Harry losing another place on lap 10 . With the train of 4 catching up to the back markers Harry made his move on lap 22 overtaking and going back up to second with a 2.3 second gap to chase down for 1st position which he did catching the leader and overtaking the leader on turn 1 of the last lap . Holding on and foot down saw him take the chequered flag with a 0.127 lead . And Harry takes the chequered flag ……………………Or so we thought. Tonight was round 6 of the Monaco championship at rye house and with a great qualifying harry started the race on pole position. A race full of events with one of harrys front runner rivals getting a very lack lustre kart saw his rival drop to 6th place on the first turn which was not very fair for him , so harry pulls away on the first lap gaining a 3 second lead, but as the race went on another front runner did catch harry and a great battle followed for the rest of the race for first and second place only for it to be utterly spoilt by a marshall decision with 2 laps to go when Harry saw a gap left by the leader on turn 3 to take him on the inside , staying within track limits to make the move only to have to turn inwards on the bend because of a tyre wall placed within the track limit line ,also with the fact of the other driver turning into the turn and also into Harry got bumped whilst they were along side each other and the other driver lost the lead, but at no time during the second to last lap and the final lap did an ABC go up for harry to give his position back which they had plenty of time to do and which he would have done. Only to be told after the race that they had given him a 30 second penalty for an ABC which i find a terrible decision as he was not told to give it back which in turn has cost him championship points, which was a very sad end to what was a great race by the 2 front runners. Seriously thinking of pulling him from rye house next year as some of these decisions are utterly shocking and put a dampener on the race days . Well done harry and Liam for a cracking race up front and unlucky for Lloyd for having a poor kart spoiling the front runner race . On wards and upwards for team 303 but hey ho as always the marshalls decision is final and musn’t grumble.
Tuesday night saw Harry in round 7 of the Monaco championship at rye house . A great qualifying saw Harry take the fastest lap and start on pole . A sluggish start off the line saw harry lose a place on the first bend and so started a great race to the end by the front three drivers who were bumper to bumper more or less through the whole race .Harry did lose and gain back and then lose again second place over the last 8 or so laps with a back marker,who was behind by 2 laps doing a’lot of weaving. As they caught him up over the last 3 laps harry had just regained 2nd place only to have him go from left to right of the track and sandwich him with 3rd place making harry break and slow down allowing 3rd to overtake again and pull a gap and with 2 laps left made it to much to ask to catch him again so harry came a very respectable 3rd place with lap times between the front 3 only tenths of a second apart from each other . well done harry Team www.harryhurstracing.com
Monaco Championship Rye house round 8 Oct 15th 2019 And Harry takes the chequered flag in 1st place at rye house in the Monaco championship round 8. With a great qualifying round starting on pole with the fastest lap of 46.285 he got a great start off the line dropping one place on lap 1 only to regain it back on lap 7 holding off 2nd place for the rest of the race. With a race of 38 laps Harry finished in 1st place with the fastest lap time of 46.407 and 6 seconds ahead of 2nd place . ย Nov 25, 2019 And the final round of the Monaco championship saw Harry have a great Qualifying finishing in pole position with a fastest lap time of 45.788….Starting on pole all drivers had a fast start staying close around turn 1 bunching three deep with harry taking a slight bump pushing him forward a little allowing him to escape the bumping going on behind him into turn 2 & 3 between the rest of the drivers ,which was great as it saw harry’s nearest rival loosing positions going down to 6th allowing harry to pull away on a clear track . The rest of the pack stayed close with each other jostling for position up until lap 9 which gave harry the perfect opportunity to extend his lead to 15 seconds with no obstacles in his way , giving him a clear run to the finish line and finishing a clear 23 seconds ahead of second place and clinching the fastest time of 45.704..
