Mclaren Winter Cup Rye house with Sam Green commentary 12 feb 2018 Rye-house.co.uk
A great winter cup with harry finishing in 2nd place being overtaken on the last lap sees him take that position on the qualifying grid for the Mclaren race season .
Mclaren championship Round 1 Rye House was a disaster starting the grid in 7th place on an absolutly soaking track with huge puddles. With harry lack of experience in the wet proved a very hard task for him not being able to find the grip at all on track , also his kart packed up early on after hitting a puddle with him having to swap karts leaving him 4 laps behind everone else. But credit to him he knuckled down and raced on managing topull some positions back and finish 9th. Not the best of starts for the championship but a great effort to cary on after mechanical failure. A best lap time of 102.881.
Mclaren championship round 2 April 9 th 2018 Starting the grid in 7th place on another wet track saw harry cope a bit better with the conditions lossing a place on lap one only to gain 3 places on lap 3 continuing to lap 7 gainig another 1 place . A few more jossles for positions saw him finish the race in5th place which was a great improvment on round 1.with a fastest lap time of 101..684 Special thanks to Sam green at www.rye-house.co.uk for the commentary
Mclaren Championship round 3 Winner with commentary from Sam Green from rye house 14th May 2018 . Round 3 saw Harry takehis first championship win on a dry track and we saw him excell himself with some superb driving maintaining the lead throughout from pole position and winning the race by 17 seconds also beating his pb lap time with a 45.917. Great driving throughout and some quick overtaking to seal the win .
Mclaren championship round 4 rye house. Round 4 saw Harry have another great race finishing 2nd overtaking neven gerard on the last lap to clinch the spot on the podium. There was lots of hussling between the top 6 drivers for position with harry claiming 2nd fastest lap time of 45.850. Another great race seeing as he did drop to 6th positon at one point but then battling back being patient until the last lap to make a move. Top driving . Great commentary from Sam green at www.rye-house.co.uk
Mclaren cup round 5 july 2018 Rye House racetrack with commentary with Sam Green www.rye-house.co.uk. After a tireing weekend for Harry he took to the kart track after having no track time all month since last months round 4 . Qualifying a good 3rd on the grid he started the race well with all 6 top runners keeping close together for a good while, But a moment of madness and lapse in concentration saw harry try and get past a back marker on the outside of turn one who in turn took him out way to wide allowing the 2 drivers behind him to overtake him and the backmarker on the inside leaving harry still behind the backmarker and loseing sight of the rest of the front pack. It was good to see him pick up the pace again after passing him to gain on the front pack closing the gap back up. but again coming up to another backmarker later on in the race saw he get blocked off and held up again losing distance again on the front runners and with time running out and tiredness kicking in he had to settle for just missing out on the podium with a fourth place finish. Great effort towards the end but lack of track practice did show in this round . So onwards to the next round and hopfully lots of practice time this month for preparation for round 6 .
Monday 13th August saw Harry compete in round 6 at rye house .Congratulations to my main man Harry in your second place hard fought finish tonight in his McLaren championship very proud daddy.
Monday 7th September saw Harry take to the rye house track for round 7 of the championship. Qualifying saw him take 5th on the grid. It was a consistent race for him but did struggle with this kart only managing to get a lowest lap time 46.688 which is way off his normal times but some great overtaking did see him hold on to 4th place from a 5th place grid start so very happy with that outcome meaning he does still hold onto 3rd place in the championship with only 2 races to go
Absolutely gutted and also so proud of Harry in his Mclaren cup Round 8 championship at Rye House. If you have been following Harry’s journey you will know he hates driving in the wet on slicks but in qualifying worked very hard to put his preparation into good practice and managed to qualy in 2nd place coming off for the break so pleased with himself with a faultless round and very determined to continue that in the race to follow but to hear his cry on the first bend of the first lap getting hit from behind and spun out then getting hit side on leaving him in 12th place at the back of the pack with no one seeing the incident i thought then that his race was over already but was proved wrong by him as he stuck his head down and drove his ass off moving back up the pack to take a 5th place finish earning him driver of the day and some valuable points leading up to the last race of the championship next month.Well done harry for knuckling down and chasing back🏎️🏎️🏎️🏎️🏎️🏎️10 out of 10 for effort..
Mclaren Championship Final round 9 November 11th 2018 saw harry finish 2nd in the race which was full of action. With Harry taking p2 on the grid for the start. With him changing position with the front five 11 times going up to 2nd on the 18th lap and a back marker edging him off track taking him back down to 4th saw him doing some great overtaking to claim back 2nd position . Managing to break away from group of 4 saw him close the gap from 13 seconds down to 6.5 secs on the leader but ran out of time to catch him. A great race and season saw harry claim 2nd place today, also fastest lap time and driver of the day for battling back many times throughout the race which also saw Harry finish 3rd place overall in this seasons Mclaren championship missing out on 2nd place by just 4 points. A superb first competitive race season for harry leaves him eager to start next years championships and the winter cup in February. Commentary by Sam green http://www.rye-house.co.uk
