NATSKA ROUND 3, Clay Pigeon, 15th Oct 2022

NATSKA Round 3. Harry takes the chequered flag in 11th Place. This weekend was NATSKA Round 3 at Clay pigeon racetrack, Dorchester.

The weather was a mixture all day of rain, cloud and sunshine which kept everyone guessing by the hour of which tyres to go onto, wets or slicks. This was Harry’s 3rd race as novice starting from the back of the grid and did not get off to a great start with a massive grid of 28 drivers.

Heat 1,

Unfortunately he did not complete the first lap as his engine oiled up and he came to a stop halfway round the track so he had to retire with a DNF for the first Heat.

Dads time to shine. With some serious head scratching, carb cleaning, battery checking & text messaging to teammsport Australia we the problem solved with an oiled-up spark plug. This was a problem I now could see had happened in heat 4 at Fulbeck 2 weeks ago. Fingers crossed problem solved.

Heat 2,

Harry got off to a great start and continued to finish 13th out of 28th and get fastest lap. The race had a Red flag making the race too dangerous to continue with everyone on slick tyres.

Heat 3,

Starting for the first time on wet tyres saw him climb up to a 10th Place finish from the back.

Heat 4,

In this heat the weather changed in the middle of the race.

From the back Harry managed to finish the race in 9th Place as the rain started again.

Heat 1 24th – DNF Heat 2 25th – 13th Heat 3 21st – 10th Heat 4 27th – 9th

We finished the day in 11th Place for NATSKA Round 3, which is a great result out of 28 Drivers. Harry Also claimed 3rd fastest lap for the day . Roll on to Whilton Mill in 2 week’s time and Harrys final race on Novice plates.

NATSKA Round 2 , 1st of October 2022. Fulbeck kart track Grantham.

It was a great days racing yesterday at Fulbeck for NATSKA Round 2. We had some highs and lows but great pace and a great result in the end .

Harry took the chequered flag in 11th Place out of 28 in only his second race on novice plates, starting at the back of the grid in NATSKA Round 2 at Fulbeck Kart track. A great Sunny days racing with the morning being a damp slippery track on slicks making it interesting. Still lots still to learn for both of us, but pace wise he was flying. Harry had Fastest lap in heat 3 and 3rd fastest in Heat 4 which were good signs he was building in confidence. We are just starting to get his race craft and overtaking times which are key things we are working on. Racing against a’lot of older lads will mean he can learn from them as well.

Heat 1 starting 28th and finishing 14th

Heat 2 starting 21st andfinishing 7th. 3rd fastest lap

Heat 3 starting 25th and finishing 7th but got a 1 lap warning penalty for missing the chiquane due to late breaking . Great result in Heat 3, also getting fastest lap but ended up 20th due to the 1 lap so lesson learnt.

Finished 11th out of 28 class 15 drivers

Very happy with how the day went as there were a few red flags and restarts, glad the drivers involved were ok . Set up was great even with worn tyres so looking forward to Clay pigeon Dorchester in 2 weeks time.

NATSKA Round 1 Camberley 17th of September 2022 Round 1 Class 15 Junior Rotax.

And Harry takes the chequered flag in 9th place in his first class 15 race in NATSKA Round 1 Junior Rotax.

After telling him not to race and just get used to the new engine ….he decided by himself….to race .This took my heartbeat to a new level of adrenalin as he raced for the first time in Class 15 Junior Rotax after moving up from Honda class 12.

We had super pace all day and was looking very comfortable going round the track. Still so much to learn with set up and race craft but he got off to a flying start.

Mum even got the chance to do Marshall duty for a session .He will start at the back of the grid for the first 4 races on novice plates to get used to the high power class.

NATSKA Round 1 Class 15 Junior Rotax,

Heat 1 Started 16th – finished 7th & fastest lap

Heat 2 Started 17th – finished 11th

Heat 3 Started 17th – finished 8th

Heat 4 Started 15th – finished 3rd

He finished 9th Overall. It was a great days racing on well scrubbed tyres. This was his new class after moving up and showed great pace. Exciting times ahead. Roll on Fulbeck in 2 weeks time.

And Harry takes the chequered flag in 11th Place. This weekend was NATSKA Round 3 at Clay pigeon racetrack Dorchester. The weather was a mixture all day of rain, cloud and sunshine which kept everyone guessing by the hour of which tyres to go onto. wets or slicks. This was Harry’s 3rd race as novice starting from the back of the grid. He did not get off to a great start, with a massive grid of 28 drivers.

Heat 1. Harry did not complete the first lap after 2 rolling laps, he came to a stuttering stop halfway round the track meaning he had to retire with a DNF for the first Heat with an oiled-up spark plug.

Heat 2. Harry started off great and continued to finish 13th out of 28 drivers getting fastest lap. The race was Red flagged halfway round as the heavens opened with rain making the race too dangerous to continue with everyone on slicks.

Heat 3. Harry took to the track for the first time on wet tyres in Rotax and saw him climb up to 10th Place from the back with batten burg flags in the heat slowing things down due to crashes.

Heat 4. The weather changed in the middle of the race, with everyone starting on slicks but from the back Harry managed to finish the race in 9th Place as the rain started again, everyone sliding all over the place with the batten burg flags came out again. Another great result at NATSKA Clay pigeon.

NATSKA Round 2 Fulbeck class 15 Junior Rotax 1st Oct 2022

Round 2 NATSKA 2022 – 2023 Championship Season

And Harry Takes the chequered flag in 11th Place out of 28 at NATSKA Round 2 FULBECK. A great Sunny days racing with lots still to learn for both of us, but pace wise he was flying . Fastest lap in heat 3 and 3rd fastest in Heat 4 were good signs he was building in confidence, just getting his race craft sorted out and his patience for the right time are key things we are working on, but racing against a’lot of older lads will mean he can learn from them as well.

NATSKA 2022-2023 Championship Round 1 Camberley 23rd September2022 Class 15 Junior Rotax

Heat 1. Started 16th – finished 7th & fastest lap

Heat 3. Started 17th – finished 8th

Heat 4. Started 15th – finished 3rd

Finishing 9th Overall. A great days racing on well scrubbed in tyres in his New class 15, but showed great pace so exciting times ahead. Roll on Fulbeck in 2 weeks time.

NATSKA NATIONALS Championship 2021 9th – 11th JULY.CLASS 11/10

NATSKA NATIONALS Championship 2021 9th – 11th JULY

What a great weekends karting we’ve had at Fulbeck kart club for the NATSKA nationals championship with Barnwell kart club.

Great people to spend it with who all seemed a’lot calmer than me on the surface. Whether they were as stressed and nervous as me , who knows. Lots of great racing throughout the classes and very proud of harry who managed to Finish 5th overall for the weekend and finish 6th in the natska championship even with all the covid restrictions in place meaning he missed a few rounds .

started 4th finished 3rd

Heat 2

started 17th finished 6th

Heat 3

started 14th, Had engine failure and had to retire 3 laps from the end.

started 8th finished 5th

started 2nd finished 4th

Heat 6

started 10th finished 6th Finishing 5th place for the 2 days racing. Shattered on the Monday but well worth the effort and cant wait for the new season to start in Sept at Camberley with his new number harryhurstracing.com

Natska 27th June 2021 Bayford Meadows Round 8 Class 11 Trackside Cam

Natska 27th June 2021 Bayford Meadows Round 8 Class 11 Trackside Cam.

And harry takes the chequered flag finishing 8th for the day at Bayford Meadows Sittingbourne, for round eight, Sunday 27th June. It was a split day of highs and lows with Harry having a great first two heats for the day finishing third in Heat 1 and Finishing 1st in Heat two.

All was going well in Heat 3 until 2 laps from the end, whilst Harry was in 2nd place he had engine failure and the kart cut out leaving him with a did not finish .

Getting the kart back to the awning we did get it started again so we were able to send him out for Heat 4, and again all was going well, in 3rd place on the 4th lap he thought there was another problem so came off into parc ferme to save any further engine damage resulting in another DNF.

Could he have carried on, who knows. He made the decision to retire from the heat which did cost him his podium, but was thinking about the National Championships in 2 weeks time. He had a great days racing with some great times smashing his PB on his 2nd visit to the track .

Well done to the rest of the Barnwell team for their wins. Also thanks to Tony, Rob & Sam for getting harry to the grid whilst i was on Marshall duty’s.

Now looking forward to the 3 day nationals at Fulbeck on the 9th .

NATSKA ROUND 7 FULBECK 12th June 2021 TRACKSIDE

And Harry takes the chequered flag At Natska , Round 7, Natska Fulbeck Kart track Grantham, with Barnwell Kart club.

A grid of 28 drivers in class 11. Great days racing starting on the grid for the first time after losing my novice plates, dad got set up wrong in heat 1 so just did not have straight line speed when needed. A crash with a novice at the first chicane saw us both come to a standstill, leaving me with a DNF.

Heat 2,

It was better started 11th on the grid, better set up and managed to finish 7th.

Heat 3,

was a strange one starting 7th on the grid. Most of the race was run under batternburg flags due to crashes, with penalties to other drivers harry managed to finish 5th.

Heat 4,

was much better starting 17th managed to secure 6th place leaving Harry with an overall 5th place for the day. Also got a chance to test out the rebuilt trailer for the first time .

NATSKA, Round 6 Camberley, 29th May 2021

And Harry takes the chequered flag in 4th Place at Camberley, Round 6 Of the Natska Championship. A superb days racing in our first dry race day for this year, so much better without the rain.

He got off to a great start, still starting at the back of the grid as novice due to a penalty at Shennington last round, but made up for it today, starting in P21 and managing to finish P10 in heat1.

Heat 2

With a little adjustment to the kart started P17 and finished 5th also claiming fastest Lap with a 33.71

Heat 3

Starting 20th on the grid tore around and finished 3rd missing out on fastest lap again by 1 millisecond.

Heat 4

Starting 16th again saw him do some outstanding overtaking to finish 3rd again beating his personal best with a 33.00 which meant he finished 4th overall for the day in class 11, he will also mean he will be on the grid at the next round and not have to start at the back of the grid .

He is definitely getting to trust his tyres in the dry and push his kart to the limit which is great to see. Thanks to Kieran Crawley at MSPORT RACING for the tips.
