Natska Round 1 Class 15 Junior Rotax. Fulbeck Kart track Grantham 28th of August 2024.

A First round of ups and downs but a good run out for the first race of the season. A huge grid of 33 karts and some good and bad luck saw Harry finish the day in 11th place. We were lucky to be blessed with the sun shining all day but a chilly morning at 1degree when we got to track.

Heat 1. Starting at P19 got off to a great start on a cold track, managing to find some space on a narrow track to overtake and make up 10 places to finish the heat in 9th place. Good pace but to far back on the grid to challenge at the front.

Heat 2. This was a bad luck round. With harry starting on row 4 the heat he got off to a good start off the line but got held up before turn one as someone decided they might go through the chicane but then didn’t making everyone behind him brake slowing harry down and losing some places before he got to turn one. The race then had some stoppages with the Battenburg flag coming out on the second lap due to a crash and barrier repair which slowed everyone down for a few laps. When it was green flags again the Battenburg came out again on lap 7 for another, then a red flag due to injury, and the race was stopped on lap 7 due to time constraints. This meant harry finished the heat again in 9th place.

Heat 3. This heat saw harry back again at P19 and again fought through the tight pack to finish the heat in 10th place.

Heat 4. This was another bad luck round not managing to get around turn 1 on the first lap. A great start holding onto to 7th on the grid when the pole sitter span on the first turn causing heavy braking and harry taking a hit to his rear bumper pushing him head on into the front right side of the spinner, bending Harrys track rod arm and steering collum. This meant harry had to limp back to parc ferme and retire the kart for a DNF. This put harry down for a P11 finish for the day. Onwards and upwards to next weeks Round 2 at Camberley. Great bit of practice at Fulbeck though due to not having much pre-season testing time available.

NATSKA ROUND 2 CAMBERLEY 5th October 2024

And Harry takes the chequered flag in P3 for the day. A great consistent day’s racing for harry keeping it clean and avoiding penalties throughout the day. In what turned out to be a glorious sunny day for a change with a chill in the air, it made for some great racing with no damage to tend to, which is always good. Camberley is a very fast but short track with minimal overtaking opportunities because the top section is so narrow. Great pace all day with the top 15 drivers all being withing a quarter of a second off each other’s pace. Many crashes throughout the day in the different classes but glad everyone walked away mainly unhurt, way too many red flags and Battenburg flags in one day for my liking. With the class 15 grids being split into 3 groups of A, B & C as there were too many drivers this worked well as there was a bit more space off the start with a bit less carnage into turn one keeping the race flowing which was good.

HEAT 1 – Starting the heat in P8. There were lots of battles going on in the 21-kart grid with Harry managing to make up 3 places to finish in P5 so a great start to the day.

HEAT 2 – Starting in P14 Harry had another great round keeping in amongst a bunch of drivers with some great dives saw him finish in P7.

HEAT 3 – Starting in P10 Harry had another consistent run to make up 5 places to finish in P5 again.

HEAT 4 – Starting in P1 for a rare change saw Harry get off to a flying start, racing away and pulling a 3- 4 second Gap from the rest of the pack after a few laps. As the race went on what looked like a comfortable gap soon disappeared when the eventual class 15 winner Scott hayward was able to catch Harry due to a combination of a back marker deciding to start racing harry, and no blue flags being waved for a lap and a half telling him to let Harry pass which led to a tense final few laps which eventually saw harry take the chequered flag in P1 with a 0.14 gap to P2. A great heart stopping final heat to end the day with, Harry securing P3 overall for Round 2. Another special mention to Stacey who was on grid duty for the beginning of the day keeping the pit lane in order and free from unwanted people clutter who always seem to make their way into the pits before a heat. 1 driver and 1 mechanic always seem too much for some to remember as a pit lane rule. Well done to Stace on an impossible job with some parents and kids. Onboard and trackside footage to follow.

Natska Round 3 Bayford Meadows 26th oct 2024 class 15 Junior rotax

And Harry takes the chequered flag in P2 on a mssive grid of 31 drivers 🏎🏎🏎🏎 This was Round 3 of the NATSKA championship, held at Bayford meadows Kart Circuit Sittingbourne. Pitch black, cold & damp when we arrived at track but turned out to be an absolutely great day of racing for us. Set up spot on for all heat s with a mixture of wet and dry conditions and some top driving with great overtakes saw him finish the day in P2.

Heat 1. Started off the day with a change to wet set up due to a downpour which kept the track wet till heat 2 after lunch break. From a 6th place start saw him lose a few positions of the line and go to 8th place. With mistakes being made by other drivers he gained some positions to finally end up being in the lead by the end of the heat to finish in P1 and taking fastest lap, with the heat ending under Battenburg flag conditions.

Heat 2. The track was still damp but drying, from P21 with great pace and some great overtake maneuvers he made up 15 positions to finish in P6.

Heat 3. Starting in P9 and back on slick tyres again had a cracking heat to finish in P3. Great battles in this heat with all the top 10 starting at the front of the grid.

Heat 4. Strating in P17, ploughed through the pack with some great battles saw Harry make up 12 places to take the chequered flag in P5. This meant Harry finished the day in P2, narrowly missing out on P1 by one heat place difference between the top 2, so a great days racing even though there were some tricky conditions on a slippery track to deal with. Good points added to the championship table but with many round s still to come. Roll on for the second part of the season after the Winter break as racing seasons come to an end for many championships.

NATSKA ROUND 4 Fulbeck Kart track 1st March 2025. Class 15 junior rotax.

And Harry takes the chequered flag in 8th Place on a glorious cold but sunny day at NATSKA Round 4 – Fulbeck Kart Track After a dramatic lead-up to race day, Harry managed to secure an 8th-place finish at Fulbeck in the first round of the new year. It was uncertain whether we’d even make it to the race after a seized engine piston, but thanks to a lightning-fast turnaround from Nick at Xenon Racing, we picked up the engine just a day before the event—huge shoutout to Nick & Dan for making it happen! While the result doesn’t fully reflect how he could have done, the day was packed with strong performance. A lot of bumping and nudging off track left him fighting from near the back in all the heats, but some brilliant overtakes ensured he salvaged a solid 8th-place finish. More importantly, it was great race practice as we gear up for the next round at GYG, North Wales, in two weeks. Heat-by-Heat Breakdown:

🔹 Heat 1 – Starting P5, Harry got off to a strong start, gaining a position after Turn 1 following two false starts. Unfortunately, a bump on Lap 8 forced him to take the chicane cut-through, costing him four places. Then, avoiding a crash at the next chicane and taking a hit to the rear bumper at Turn 1 dropped him further, finishing P7—two spots down from the start.

🔹 Heat 2 – Starting at the back in P18, he held steady and began climbing through the field. However, seeing a spin in the Boot section right in his path, taking a hit to the side and with nowhere else to go on Lap1, had to take evasive action and spin off onto the grass and into the tyre wall, dropping him to last place. Undeterred, he put his head down and stormed back through the pack, making up 17 places to finish P12—setting the fastest lap of the heat in the process!

🔹 Heat 3 – Lining up in P7, the race start was chaotic, with mixed signals causing half the grid to slow while the other half sped up. By Turn 1, Harry was pushed wide, losing 10 places and dropping to 17th. Once again, he fought back with some brilliant overtakes, finishing the heat in P5. 🔹

Heat 4 – Starting P16, he made another strong start but was forced to take the chicane cut-through due to congestion, dropping down to 20th. From there, he mounted yet another impressive comeback, crossing the line in P6. However, a dropped front bumper penalty added five seconds to his time, officially classifying him in P13. As usual It was an eventful day filled with plenty of hard racing and incidents, but overall, a solid start to the year. Without the setbacks, Harry could have finished even higher, but considering Fulbeck isn’t our strongest track, finishing just three places off our best result here is still encouraging. The real positive? The engine performed brilliantly—miles ahead of last year’s poor rebuild. With rapid pace we’re looking for what’s to come in the rest of the season! Some great onboard footage to come.

NATSKA ROUND 5 GYG Round 5   15th March 2025 (Crash Heat 3) Class 15 Junior Rotax.

And Harry Claims another top 10 place at Round 5 of the NATSKA championship. This weekend saw us travel to GYG karting in Snowdonia North Wales. A nice 4hr drive and temperatures of -2 in the morning saw the Jumper go back on. It ended up being nice and sunny all day but very cold. A crazy day’s racing with 5 red flags throughout the day. A bad crash in Harry’s heat 3 saw a kart flip upside down throwing the driver out. The kart was a mess, but drive walked away ok after the ambulance checked him over. footage in the race video. We had a few issues with the cold and the engine bogging but overall rapid pace again for the day and another ton of overtakes to salvage some heats.

HEAT 1 – Starting P16 on a grid of 30 drivers saw Harry have a great start to the race only to be hit on the side at the top of the dragon straight pushing him off track onto the grass falling to last pace. A great recovery drive saw him pull back 20 places to cross the line in 7th place.

HEAT 2 – Staring 12th on the grid had a slight engine bog coming out of turn 1 losing 2 places up the straight. With a Battenburg flag coming out after a few minutes this slowed everyone down again which is where the nightmare struck on the restart. Crossing the line on the green flag restart his engine just flooded and lost power slowing to a near stop on turn 1 dropping him once again to last place. Managing to get it started again he tore off again for damage limitation. Head down again managed to move up the pack again to cross the line in 13th place dropping just 1 position from the start.

HEAT 3 – Starting in 25th place near the back this was a great heat considering the stoppages during the race. A few carb changes to stop the bogging and we were back in business. A big kart flip 3 mins in brought everyone to a standstill on track for a few minutes whilst the ambulance attended. Luckily driver ok with a few bruises. Kart & crash helmet ruined. After the restart a few minutes later harry had his own tangle touching wheels with another driver spinning him 360 over the side of the other kart with 3 karts going onto the grass. Head down again managed to gain 14 places and finish in 11th place.

HEAT 4 – A rare start P3 near the front saw Harry tear off from the start and continue for the rest of the heat to battle it out with kart 98 with both pulling a 5 second gap. Lots of tight overtaking by both made a tense race heat with only a slight braking mistake by both with 2 laps to go meant a little pause on acceleration on Harry’s part letting 98 pull a second gap ending Harry’s battle and losing the slip stream crossing the line in P2

Heat 2 – Starting in 10th place on the grid saw some great battling to finish the heat in 4th place.

Heat 3 – Starting in 22nd place saw Harry have a great race making up 15 places to finish the heat in 7th place

Heat 4 – Starting in 6th place on the grid managed to gain another 2 places, finishing in 4th place.

Heat 2 – Starting in 10th 🟢 – Finished P4 🟢

Heat 3 – Starting in 22nd 🟢 – Finished P7 🟢

Heat 4 – Starting in 6th 🟢 – Finished P4 🟢

These results classified him finishing in P4 for the day on a grid of 29.

Sundays Round 9 saw Harry finish in P3 for the day continuing his great results.

Heat 1 – Starting in 16th place, this heat did not go to plan when what they call a racing incident happened whilst harry was overtaking someone on the long straight up to Christmas corner. The other driver decided to turn into harry which caused them to touch wheels lifting harry on top of the other driver taking them both off track causing a red flag. Ambulance had to come on track for the other driver who ended up being ok with no injury’s other than to his Kart. With no damage to Harry’s kart unfortunately was not allowed to continue because he was involved in the red flag, so he had to retire from the heat which was not continued due to the time taken.

Heat 2 – After getting the kart checked over at scrutineering because of the kart. Harry was given the all clear to continue so Starting in 10th place he had a blinder of a race finishing the heat in P3, he was then promoted to P1 due to disqualifications to the P1 & P2 drivers for noncompliance of the rules.

Heat 3 – Starting all the way back in 22nd place he had another great heat managing to make his way through the pack to finish in 11th place.

Heat 4 – Starting in a rare 4th place he got a rocket start off the line to go into P1 off the first corner managing to stay ahead of the group to the finish line taking P1 for the heat.

Heat 1 – Starting in 16th Place 🟢 – Finished Retired 🔴

Heat 2 – Starting in 10th place 🟢 – Finished P1 🟢

Heat 3 – Starting in 22nd place 🟢 – Finished P11 🟢

Heat 4 – Starting in 4th place 🟢 – Finished P1 🟢

This classified Harry in P3 for the days racing. Very unlucky not to have won this day’s racing. Would it not have been for him having to retire in heat 1 after the incident he would have claimed P1. A great weekend of racing with rapid pace over the 2 days with the glorious weather helping to make it a great 2 day event. Onwards and upwards now to start prepping for rounds 10 & 11 at LLandow kart circuit in Cardiff in a few weeks’ time. NATSKA Rounds 10 & 11 Llandow kart rack 14th & 15th June 2025 Class 15 Junior Rotax.

And Harry takes the chequered flag in P2 for the Saturday Round 10 and a big bad luck P16 for the Sunday Round 11. An absolute cracking weekends racing with NATSKA Rounds 10 & 11 at Llandow Kart track in Wales. Experiencing the utmost highs on the Saturday to the lows with bad luck on the Sunday. The contrast in weather to when we left was unreal. Leaving Stevenage in 26-degree heat to arrive in Wales at the track campsite to a cloudy 9 degrees and raining. Luckily the weather was warm and dry for the 2 days racing as the rain held off. Except for the nightime when it was biblical against the tent. Llandow is a fast-paced track, and this was the first time we had raced on it in Rotax so it took a little bit to get used to the lines and braking distances but when he did, we were on pace for the whole weekend. The only downside to the circuit was there were only 2 vantage points to watch which meant you could either watch the top end of the track or the lower end of the track. You just lost sight of the karts for half the lap which wasn’t great.

Saturday = Experiencing the highs

Heat 1. Starting 20th on the grid managed to climb 11 places finishing the heat in 9th place.

Heat 2. Starting in 5th place on the grid got off to a great start going into the lead by lap 3 only for a decision being made to red flag it because of a mix-up at the first chicane with some drivers going the wrong way. The heat was then re gridded and restarted putting Harry back into 5th place. Again, off the restart Harry got a great start and managed to take the lead halfway through to bring it home in 1st place for Heat 2.

Heat 3. Starting in 21st on the grid had another storming race to finish the heat in 6th Place.

Heat 4. Starting 8th on the grid ploughed on making up 3 places, when on the final bend went for the overtake only to push to hard into the corner running a little wide letting the 3 drivers back through to finish the place in 8th place where he started.

A Great day’s racing on pace finishing the day in P2

Sunday = Experiencing the lows

This was a day that started off so well.

Heat 1. Starting 16th on the grid had a great first heat to finish in 5th place.

Heat 2. Starting 9th on the grid Harry had a great race ending the Heat in second place, or so we thought. 3 quarters into the heat someone hit the chicane kerb to hard forcing him to jump and hit into the side of Harrys front bumper knocking it off one side of the clamps causing a drop-down bumper penalty of 5 seconds. It got worse as someone had crashed near the end of the heat so full course yellows came out with the batterbug flags which meant everyone bunched up again so when the heat ended with harrys 5 second penalty added onto the end his 2nd place finish turned into a 14th place finish. Gutted for him .

Heat 3. Starting in 21st again on the grid we knew it was a massive hill to climb to get a great result for the days racing. Storming off the rolling lap he managed to gain 7 places but getting caught in a long line of karts making it to difficult to move anywhere. Another crash and a return to the battrerburg flags we knew this heat was also lost as well. And with the race finishing under the flags meant he could only get up to 14th place again.

Heat 4. We thought we could make up some position on the table with our highest grid place for the weekend of 4th place but it wasn’t meant to be as a 3 kart crash off the start line brought out the red flags and then Harrys kart packed up half way round the track with spark plug failure on lap 1 so ended the heat with a DNF.

A great weekend’s racing with 2 different feelings for the 2 days with a great result still for the Saturday’s round 10 which means we head towards the National finals in Cumbria in second place in the championship in 4 weeks’ time. Unfortunately missing our first race meeting in 5 years with NATSKA, Round 12 in Hooton Park next week. NATSKA Rounds 13 & 14  Championship Finals , Sprint weekend.

And Harry takes 1st Place in the 2024 – 2025 Natska Championship. & P3 in the weekends 6 heat sprint race. With 14 rounds in the championship, it’s been as usual a long year of racing with a lot of highs and some extreme lows. This year’s National finals took us to Rowrah, Cumbria’s Kart circuit and for this year the weather was absolutely roasting topping the temperature gauge in the 30’s whilst stuck in the quarry which felt like an oven with no breeze but cannot complain as we have lost 2 tents here in the past with the force 10 gales that hit the track over past weekends. This is one of our favourite tracks in the country, just a shame it is so far away at 6 hours otherwise we would race here more often. We decided to miss the practice day on the Friday as we were quite confident with set up and how to handle the track, and it turned out all was good in the end. With 30 drivers on the grid, we got enough info on the days track conditions in practice to hit the ground running in Heat 1. Harry started the finals in second place in the championship behind the leader by 12 points and the top 5 were all close behind so we thought the day was going to be very tight with results. This weekends racing was going to consist of 6 heats over the 2 days with 1 drop down round so the total from 5 heats points would count.

SATURDAY RACING

Heat 1 – Starting 18th on the grid had a great first heat to make up 9 places to finish in P9 with the leader of the championship finishing in p1 from a p5 start.

Heat 2 – Starting 13th on the grid he had another great race keeping it consistent and finishing in P7 with the leader finishing in p12 from a p26 start.

Heat 3 – Starting in 28th place had his best round by far taking advantage of a lot of mistakes and making up a stonking 19 places to finish the heat in P9 whist the leader had to retire with a carry over penalty which meant he finished in last place and made the race to the title down to the wire and the next heat would give harry a massive advantage.

Heat 4 – Starting in 3rd place harry kept his nerve and kept a clean race off the line staying behind the leader from start line to finish line to finish the heat in P2 with the leader having to retire from the heat so it was game on and harry shot into the lead in the championship with only 2 heats to go on the Sunday.

SUNDAY RACING. Another roasting hot day keeping the set up the same as on the Saturday turned out to be spot on. All Harry would have to do to win the championship was drive 2 clean heats not getting any penalties and just finish both.

Heat 5 – Starting 22nd on the grid with my heart trying to exit my chest the lights went out and harry shot off making up 9 places to finish in 13th place.

Heat 6 – Starting in 9th place drove a solid clean heat making up 3 places to finish the heat in 6th place and so securing the championship win. This also meant he finished the weekends sprint race in P3 so an absolutely superb weekends racing in sunny cumbria. SATURDAY

So proud of the way he has handled himself in this year’s championship from the slow start of the season we had, and some pour first round results that didn’t go our way with bad luck. All against some great drivers all of whom had one thing in mind as well. To win. Onwards and upwards now to the start of our next season in September and to carry on getting signatures for our inter club championship license. A massive thank you to our sponsors who have continued to support Harry through his championships. It is appreciated so much making it possible to achieve what he has.
