This was Harrys first championship round at Daytona Milton Keynes kart track. Having come up the week before for a trial run in their karts to see if he liked it, and decided he loved it. Great smooth long track and he took to it quite quickly putting in 1 min laps in his first session which was a good sign.Β  We then took the decision to enter him into the autumn championship. So on the morning he drew the round 1 qualifying group on a dry track and as in the video had a nightmare with his kart engine failing on lap 3 coming to a stop brought the yellow flags out and also harry out of his kart to get to the pit lane and jump into another kart.Β  His warm up lap in the new kart was great and on the next flying lap saw a red flag come out for an accident on another part of the track stopping his lap , so as the time went on waiting he was only left with one lap left of qualifying to get a time in . So as qualifying finished Harry did get the fastest lap of his group all be it only doing 4 laps so was very pleased with that result but meant he would be starting in P1 in the B final . With the cadets setting off with a 15 second lead the junior karts then set off with harry pulling away and making a gap after the first lap managing to overtake the cadets after the 5th lap. Being ahead by 20 seconds on the 12th lap made a mistake on hairpin 1 with the steering wheel slipping in his hands sending him front facing into the tyre wall . So waiting for the marshall’s to get him back on track dropped him down to 9th place but carried on with foot down over the next 9 laps did manage to take back 4 positions to claim P5 with a fastest lap time of 57.670 which was a blinding result and time considering it was his first competitive race on this track with 1 practice session before, so he cannot wait for round 2 on the 15th Sep. Great racing with some funny moments of flag waving by harry during the race but also he took to the track really quickly .Well done Harry.. www.harryhurstracing.com

Harry had a blinder at only his 3rd visit to the track and drawing the first qualifying group gave himself a little gap on the warm up lap before starting his flying laps in the 10 min time frame. This saw him clock up the second fastest lap time through out the 3 groups which meant him starting in P2 in the A Final which we were over the moon with as that was his target for the day ,To get to the A Final . And a great start off the line saw him keep the position only to lose it after a few bends and go down to 4th. some great driving and overtakes by the drivers saw them change position over the next few laps keeping a train going of 5 drivers . After about 6 laps the juniors caught up with the cadets and that’s where harry and another managed to break away after the leader made a mistake and span leaving the new leader and harry to break away with harry managing to keep a 6 second between himself and 3rd place . With the chequered flag being waved Harry finished on the podium in P2 and recorded second fastest lap of the day missing out by 4 hundredth’s of a second. Well done Harry on a great race and determination in only his second race and 3rd visit to the track.

Daytona Milton Keynes Autumn Championship Round 3 Sept 29th 2019. This was Harrys first race on this track in the wet so qualifying was a bit of a nightmare with him gliding all over the place trying to find a bit of grip on the track with new wets lines to learn and only 10 mins to learn them. He did manage to get in a reasonable time all be it about 4 seconds off the front runners pace , so he managed to qualify in 4th position in the B final which we were quite happy with . So with the Rain coming down harry got a great start off the lines and gained 1 place before turn 2. With a few spinners early on the front 3 were able to get a good 3 second gap from the rest and pull away . A good battle then took place between harry and the leader and they both changed positions a few times whilst battling for the lead and as the race came to a close harry crossed the line in second place but because of 2 penalties being awarded to the winner for ABC , s earlier on was given a 10 place grid penalty giving Harry the win, in only his first wet race on the track which was superb, well done Harry www.harryhurstracing.com

Daytona Milton Keynes Autumn Championship Round 4 Oct 13th 2019 . we had a Nightmare in qualy with no practice beforehand to get used to wet lines again .weather was horrendous with surface water on track so could only manage C final on only my second wet race on this track. Had a great start from P4 going up to P1 from the start line to turn 1 and held on to position until the last 3 laps when i made a slight mistake going wide and let 2nd place in to take the lead but came 2nd with a great close race with olly ward . So every podium is a positive but god I hate racing in the wet. I look forward to round 5 hopefully on a dry track .

Round 5 of the Daytona Autumn championship Milton Keynes saw harry take to a damp track for practice managing to go 5th fastest . He drew group 2 qualifying and had a great qualy managing to finish 2nd fastest in his group and 3rd fastest overall to put him into the A Final and a P3 on the Grid . A very strong A final bunch of drivers saw what the marshall called a “lively race” but for us spectators saw an absolute blinding race with lots of incidents ,spins , and contacts and overtakes and unfortunately penalties so no one who crossed the line in their positions actually finished in them position which is where it got complicated as to who finished where. So after a great exciting race with harry finishing 4th across the line but getting a penalty for taking out the leader on the second from last turn trying to overtake 2 drivers on a hair pin to go for the win, harry finished 9th . The winner of the race also got a penalty so finished 6th . Second across the line finished 1st with no penalties . 3rd across the line finished 8th with one penalty. Harry crossed in 4th but finished 9th with one penalty. 5th who crossed the line finished second with no penalties and 6th who crossed the line 31 seconds behind finished 3rd on the podium lololol and 7th finished 7th . So although a great race which harry would have finished 2nd but for 1 mistake in a braking to late manouver , did manage to grab some more chmpionship points to move him up 1 place to 7th out of 31 drivers so we were very happy with that and the way he held his own against the more experienced drivers at this track . Roll on Round 6 which looks to be a wet race . www.harryhurstracing.com

Daytona Autumn Championship Milton Keynes Round 6 10th Nov 2019 Round 6 saw a damp cold track and Harry get to go out in group 2 qualifying. So as the different groups went out it meant a slightly dryer track for the next group and an ok qualy saw Harry make the B final in P3 missing out on the A final by less than Half a second . With some places still holding wet patches on the track the whole grid had a great start off the line with harry losing a place on lap 3 going down to fourth but regaining his position on lap 6 . The front 4 then started to pull away and for the rest of the race stayed nice and tight together with Harry crossing the line in a great 3rd place with 0.963 of a gap between 1st and 3rd . So a great day with no penalties and a close fought race ended up with a podium finish.. Sunday saw Harry take part in round 7 of the Autumn championship at Daytona Mk . A short qualifying saw harry achieve a great 3rd fastest place in group 2 on a very damp slippery track but half way through saw his kart pack up meaning harry had to get out of his kart and walk back to the pits under yellow flags for the whole track to get into a different kart which was to cold in the short space of time left in qualy to beat his time. But we were more than happy as it meant he qualified in 5th place on the grid in the A final so anything else is always a bonus . So the A final was a very strong grid made up of all the championships top drivers and all got off to a great start keeping position up until the final 2 bends of the first lap when 8th place tried the same move harry tried last race and failed causing a pile up blocking harrys route out allowing the others behind him to pass by dropping harry down to last place effectively finishing harrys race before the end of the first lap . With the chase on he did swap positions with back 3 a few times and did get close to 5th place but with a spin on lap 6 and running wide on the final 2nd bend could only manage finishing in 7th junior place which was fine for us as it meant some better championship points than last round and an improved time wet race this round. But the frustration showed on his face at the end being angry with himself for spinning …………………………………Much improved wet racing and looking forward to next weekends round 8 as harry stands at P9 in the championship out of 28 drivers at the moment in his first season at this track . 🏎🏎🏎🏎🏎🏎🏎🏎🏎🏎🏎🏎 Please like and subscribe to follow Harrys Journey harryhurstracing.com

Daytona Autumn Championship Milton Keynes Round 8 A nightmare race for harry who struggled today in the wet and just could not find the grip. Qualifying with a 1.13.557 put him in the B final. With the conditions unchanged harry could only manage to finish P5. So not a good day at the office but looking forward to the round 9 which is the final round of the championship in 2 weeks time.

Daytona Autumn Championship Milton Keynes Final Round 9 December 15th 2019. The final race of this years championship in Milton keynes on a wet track was a completely different race from round 8 for harry who came here with no practice session before qualifying and got off to a flyer form the off. Going out in qualy group 1 harry put in consistent times throughout the ten minutes clocking up a 1.12.276, second fastest in the group. A great start which would see Harry start the A Final in P4 in the wet after the other 2 groups had completed their qualifying . Harry got a great start off the line but went wide on turn 5 loosing a bit of speed to allow 2 through and by the end of the first lap went down 7th place. Gaining back a position on the next lap and another position on lap 5 moved harry up to 5th place Which he held onto till the end whilst jostling and defending 5th with the eventual 3rd place championship winner up until the last few laps when the driver behind bumped harry on the final hairpin spinning himself out giving harry a bit more space to chase down 3rd and 4th which he did manage to do finishing the race 1.1 second behind them just off the podium. 5th was a superb place to finish for harry as this was on a wet track without a practice beforehand so well done what a superb race . This result left Harry finishing 9th place in the championship out of 28 Drivers and his first season at this track so cant wait for the new season to start in January . Well done to the champ winner Ralf Leckie and to Daniel Monroe for second place and to Daniel Watson for finishing 3rd. Onwards and upwards to team 303 as the 2019 season finishes and we will see you in 2020
